Dance Classes We Offer

*All of our leveled classes follow a detailed, progressive curriculum.
*Boys and girls are welcome in all of our classes.
*All of our classes begin with a short devotional and time of prayer.

Little Lights Tots in Tutus (Ages 18 months to 3 years)

Boys and girls in our Tots in Tutus class will enjoy a time of fun and imagination as they learn to dance. Our youngest of dancers will enjoy dancing with, ribbons, and parachutes, along with various other props and creative learning tools. Tutus and super hero capes are encouraged and welcomed!

Little Lights Pre-Combo Classes (Ages 3-6 years)

Our Little Lights Combo Classes incorporate ballet, tap, and creative movement providing a well rounded introduction to dance. We want our little ones to discover a love for dance as they learn basic ballet and tap technique, rhythm, and coordination in an atmosphere of creativity and joy.

Little Lights Pre-Hip Hop (Ages 4-6)

Our Pre-Hip Hop class is a fun, energetic introduction to hip hop technique and free styling. Our little hip hoppers will grow in confidence as they learn age appropriate movement and are given plenty of opportunities to shine.

Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all technical dance forms. Our ballet classes will incorporate the fundamentals of classical ballet education including terms and definitions. As we focus on flexibility, strength, and coordination, our dancers will learn proper feet and arm placement, balance and control, leaps, jumps, directional changes and weight transfers. Each class will incorporate barre, across the floor, and center floor choreography.

Jazz

Our high, energy jazz classes incorporate leaps, turns, coordination, musicality, and strong technique showcasing each dancer’s style and originality.

*Students must be enrolled in one of our ballet classes in order to participate in jazz.

Tap

Tap is a lively, highly entertaining style of dance providing great benefits to the dancer’s body including; increased muscular strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, and enhanced cognitive abilities. Our tap classes combine traditional tap with innovative choreography helping our dancers to gain a strong sense of rhythm and timing. We offer classes from beginning through advanced, including beginner and intermediate teen/adult classes.

Hip Hop

Our Hip Hop classes provide students with the opportunity to learn a wide variety of hip hop moves in a wholesome, appropriate manner. Students will learn hip hop technique from different eras providing them with dance vocabulary needed for free styling and battling. Our hip hop dancers will be encouraged to develop their own unique style and groove. We offer classes from beginning through advanced, including beginner and intermediate teen/adult classes.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a beautiful fusion of classical ballet, modern, and jazz styles of dance. Our students will grow in body awareness, creativity, and strength as they participate in this popular dance genre.

*Students must be enrolled in one of our ballet classes in order to participate in contemporary.

Lyrical

Our lyrical classes combine ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. Lyrical dance is performed to the “lyrics” of a song. Our students will learn to create inspired movement that expresses deep emotions. Choreography, facial expression, fluidity, and grace will be emphasized in our lyrical classes.

*Students must be enrolled in one of our ballet classes in order to participate in lyrical.

Pre-Pointe

Our pre-pointe classes are created for students interested in furthering their ballet training with a desire to dance “En Pointe”. Development of core muscles, feet, and leg strength will be emphasized along with balance and proper form.

*Dancers must be 10+ and enrolled in Level 3 Ballet or higher.

Pointe

For our more advanced dancers, pointe class shares all of the elements of our leveled ballet classes with a special emphasis on pointe shoes. Proper form, strength, and grace are developed through extensive barre work, progressing to movement across and center floor.

*Students must be 12+, enrolled in Level 3 ballet or higher, and previously enrolled in a pre-pointe class. Students must receive instructor approval in order to participate in pointe.

Jazz/Musical Theater
Dancers will learn proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows and famous musicals. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. For ages 7-12 and 13 & UP. No previous dance experience needed.

ACRO
Acro dance focuses on building strength, flexibility, and balance by combining tumbling skills with flexibility training and dance vocabulary. Students will learn how to take care of their body in order to safely perform tricks such as cartwheels, handstands, and bridges, and improve back and split flexibility. Acro dance combines the elegance of ballet with the energy of jazz and the fun of acrobatics! For ages 3-6, 7-12, and 13 & UP. No previous dance experience is needed.

*Students in Acro 3 must also be enrolled in a jazz class.

Modern
In modern dance, students will be introduced to traditional and historical modern techniques. Students will explore different qualities of movement, modern vocabulary, floor work, coordination and control, and weight sharing with partners based on a basic understanding of anatomy and kinesiology taught in class. For ages 7 and up, modern dance is a fun way to express ourselves through movement!

Pre-Teen Combo

Our Pre-Teen Combo class is designed for students ages 9 to 12 who have little to no previous dance experience. We will incorporate the fundamentals of ballet, tap, and jazz technique, preparing these students to join our leveled classes. We greatly value our teen and pre-teen beginners.

Teen Combo

Our Teen Combo class is designed for students ages 13+ with beginning to intermediate dance experience. We will incorporate the fundamentals of ballet, tap, and jazz technique, preparing these students to join our leveled classes. We greatly value our teen and pre-teen beginners.

Awaken Adult Lyrical/Contemporary

Our adult combo class is for dancers 17+. This class will include lyrical, and contemporary technique along with creative movement and prophetic dance. This class is designed to bring transformation, healing, and spiritual growth through the art of dance. Women of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to participate.

Adult Ballet

This class is for dancers 17+. Ballet is the foundation of all technical dance forms. Our ballet classes will incorporate the fundamentals of classical ballet education including terms and definitions. As we focus on flexibility, strength, and coordination, our dancers will learn proper feet and arm placement, balance and control, leaps, jumps, directional changes and weight transfers. Each class will incorporate barre, across the floor, and center floor choreography. Adults with advanced experience may also participate in our ballet 4 or ballet 5 classes.

Teen/Adult Hip Hop

This class is for teen and adults at a beginning to intermediate hip hop experience. Our Hip Hop classes provide students with the opportunity to learn a wide variety of hip hop moves in a wholesome, appropriate manner. Students will learn hip hop technique from different eras providing them with dance vocabulary needed for free styling and battling. Our hip hop dancers will be encouraged to develop their own unique style and groove.

Adult Jazz/Afro Fusion

Our adult jazz class incorporates traditional jazz technique with stretching for flexibility, cardio fitness,  leaps, turns, coordination, musicality and style.  This class will also include Afro Fusion jazz with African and and American street and social style dances  in an atmosphere of fun and self acceptance!  All levels are welcome with a focus towards intermediate level dancers.

Adult Tap

This class is for adults and teens 17+ with beginning to intermediate tap experience. Tap is a lively, highly entertaining style of dance providing great benefits to the dancer’s body including; increased muscular strength, flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, and enhanced cognitive abilities. Our tap classes combine traditional tap with innovative choreography helping our dancers to gain a strong sense of rhythm and timing.
